Walter J. Ligman, 70, of Banning died May 16, 1999, in Loma Linda.
He was born Sept. 25, 1928, in Tacoma, Wash.
He was the owner of Walt's Automotive in Indio for more than 36 years.
He served in the U.S. Navy for two years.
Survivors include his wife, Dawne; a son, Walter J. of Yucca Valley; a daughter, Marcia S. Ortegel of Twin Falls, Idaho; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Minard of Idyllwild and Richard of Indio; and two sisters, Juanita Dobbins of Carson City, Nev., and Patricia Safford of Hampden, Mass.
